Biography


Originally from Rancho Cucamonga, California, pianist Kevin Gordon Hou has performed internationally in the Czech Republic, Israel, Italy, the United States, and Canada. His competition awards include:

  • 2nd prize at the Siena Piano Competition 2023 at Villa Scacciapensieri

  • Grand Prix at the 2022 Oxana Yablonskaya Institute Piano Competition in Eilat, Israel

  • Finalist at the 2022 "14 Ways to Dubai" American International Piano Festival and Competition in Washington DC

  • Grand Prix at the 4th International World Music Competition

  • Jury Prize at the Liszt Competition in Los Angeles

He has also participated in festivals such as the Tel-Hai International Piano Masters, the Todi Music Masters, and others. Kevin Hou is particularly interested in promoting little-performed and neglected repertoire, including Medtner's "Night Wind" Sonata Op. 25 No. 2, as well as transcriptions of Rachmaninoff songs by Earl Wild and Arcadi Volodos.

Kevin studied film, literature, and political science at UC San Diego, and recently earned his master's degree in piano performance with Paul Stewart at the University of Montreal. He has studied with Oxana Yablonskaya, Eduardo Delgado, Leonid Levitsky, and David Butler Cannata.


To make a reservation:

To make a reservation, you must have a studio membership.

If you are already a member: $40.00 + taxes ($45.99 per member).

If it's your first time: $40.00 + $10.00 + taxes for the one-year "Curious" subscription to the Studio's private events ($57.48 per person)

Each new member wishing to activate their subscription must provide us with a separate email address. This is not mandatory, but the subscription will only be valid for the evening if you choose not to provide this information.

(For example, two people cannot use the same email to register in the system)

As this is an event managed by the pianist in collaboration with Studio Disonnances, to reserve your place, please send the total amount of your reservation, including taxes, by bank transfer to the following email address: kevingordonhou@gmail.com . We will confirm your reservation by email after receiving your payment. If you are not yet a member, please indicate your email address in the comments section. We will confirm your reservation and add you to the member list.


General Policy


Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferred to another Studio Dissonance member. Subscriptions are non-refundable and non-transferable.
