Sarah Vella started piano lessons with Dr. Charlene Farrugia (LRAM) under whose tutorship

she obtained her LCDC and LRSM Diplomas. She continued her studies with Professor Michael

Young at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD) where she was awarded a

Master of Music in performance with distinction. Over the past few years, she was able to

perform in Malta, the United Kingdom, Italy and Canada. Among others one may mention a

voice and piano recital held as part of the International Spring Orchestra Festival in Malta;

recitals held in Gloucestershire and Clevedon, a two piano recital at Oxford University; recitals

held in Gubbio and most recently in Trevi, Italy.

She is currently pursuing her doctorate studies in piano performance at the University of

Montréal (UdeM, Canada) with Professor Jimmy Brière, with whom she also completed her

Master's degree. Over the course of her time at UdeM, she was the recipient of the Bourse

Denis Angers, as well as the Excellence Scholarship highlighting her progress in her studies. She

is endlessly grateful to the Joseph Calleja Foundation, the Janatha Stubbs foundation, the

Malta Arts Scholarship and the Endeavor Scholarship Schemes which very kindly supported

her studies in the UK and Canada.
