Our wandering history, Fred (Montreal-Florida-Rochester-Boston-Montreal), Julie (Trois-Rivières -Vienna - Malaysia- Trois-Rivieres), Tomoko (Sapporo - Madison- Boston-Fairbanks-Montreal), resonate the Schubert Piano Trio No.2. Schumann hailed Schubert’s 9th Symphony for its “heavenly length”, but that phrase could be just as appropriately used to describe this trio, a work of miraculous diversity whose vast swells and deflations have a boundlessness about them.Shostakovitch Piano Trio No.1: this work shows his 17 years old's Romanticism which dedicated to his love Tatyana.

Biographies

The Canadian violinist Frédéric Bednarz is active as a soloist and chamber musician. His wide range of repertoire and his sensitive and keen musicianship have been praised by critics."Powerful atmosphere, technically assured...Gorgeous tone drawing sustained sweetness" states The Strad, London., while the Kansas City Star writes, “a marvelous violinist and eminent chamber musician”. He was awarded the prestigious Prix d’Europe, and was a top winner at the Val Tidone International Competition in Italy.

As a soloist, he has played with l'Orchestre Métropolitain de Montreal, La Sinfonia de Montréal, the Ottawa Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble America in New York, the Atlantic Symphony (MA). He also collaborated with Anthony Marwood, Richard Lester, Malcom Lowe, Alexandre Tharaud, and was a member of the Molinari String Quartet (2007-2018).

He has recorded extensively for the Albany, Atma and Metis Islands labels. His latest album with music of Giya Kancheli (Sunny Night - MI 009) was featured as disc of the week by Radio-Canada and CBC Music.

Pianist Tomoko Inui is the citizen of the world. In 2004, she was given the Bruneau Prize from McGill for her exceptional solo recital. She has been actively playing solo and chamber music through the Access Montreal City Culture Program and the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Music Society. She is a professor at pre-conservatoire de musique de montreal and has worked as an official accompanist at Queens University, an organist at Eglise Saint Arsene, and a pianist for the Montreal West Operatic Society. Tomoko is an avid chamber musician, having performed with the Alexander String Quartet in Florence, Italy (2008), cellists Laurentieu Sbarcea in Marianzke Lazne, Czech Republic (2003) and Valentin Scharff in Liesing, Austria (2014 & 2015), and violist Marcus Thompson in Montreal (2016-2019). Her concert appearances include the International Music Festival and Workshop (2003-2011). Summer in 2014&2015, she worked for the FriedensKonzert (peace concert) in Liesing, Austria. She has done the recording projects of music by Mozart, Chopin, Ravel, and Rachmaninoff with the recording engineer Meining Cheung (2008 and 2013). She has a Licentiate and Master's degree in piano solo performance from McGill University, and also holds a PhD and previously worked in the field of physical oceanography for many years.

Julie Dessureault is a cellist and educator from Trois-Rivières, highly active in the Quebec music scene. She began her musical studies at the age of three and turned to the cello at nine. After completing her cello studies under the tutelage of Jean-Christophe Guelpa at the Conservatoire de musique de Trois-Rivières, she continued her education in Austria, where she earned a graduate degree with Dankwart Gahl at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg.

During her stay in Austria, she toured France, Spain, and the Netherlands with the Salzburg Chamber Soloists. Her years in Europe strengthened her love for travel. In 2003, she moved to Malaysia to join the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra as a tutti cellist. This enriching experience allowed her to work with internationally renowned conductors and soloists such as Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Lorin Maazel, Kees Bakels, Fabio Luisi, James Ehnes, Janine Jensen, Stephen Hough, and Stéphane Tétreault. She also discovered Malaysian and Indonesian music with the gamelan group "Rhythm in Bronze."

Since her return to Quebec in 2022, Julie has been a member of the esca quartet and has collaborated with popular artists such as Daniel Bélanger, Alex Nevsky, Alexandra Stréliski, and Bruno Pelletier. She has also participated in the show "Les Temps Fous" broadcast on Télé-Québec. Julie is a sought-after chamber musician and loves playing in cello ensembles. She is also an extra musician for the Trois-Rivières and Sherbrooke Symphony Orchestras. A dedicated teacher, she gives private lessons and teaches at Félix-Leclerc and St-François d'Assise elementary schools in Trois-Rivières.

When she is not playing music, Julie enjoys cooking, taking care of her dogs, and staying fit.

Julie plays a cello by Michele Ashley (2016) and a bow by Éric Fournier kindly loaned by the company Canimex Inc, from Drummondville, QC Canada.
